On beginning of September Conducted a second joint regionally synchronized Monitoring Control and Surveillance (MCS) enforcement operation and removed fisheries illegalities in 20 key major hotspots (zones) on Lake Victoria to reduce Illegal Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) fishing and to enhance employment opportunities, incomes, foreign exchange and food security to the current and future generations.
The key hotspots are with the operational area that covers 12 sectors/districts in Uganda, 5 stations namely Kisumu; Homa Bay, Siaya, Migori, Busia in Kenya and Three (3) zones Sengerema, Geita and Muleba in United Republic of Tanzania.
